Einride is growing exponentially and we are looking for a Network Engineer to join our Tech organization. You will set up private networks for our Autonomous Electric Truck (AET) to operate on and be responsible for all things related to networking, maintenance, SW systems, calibrations, and on-going IT systems troubleshooting.
In addition to the Network responsibilities, this role will also specifically contribute to the Tech Operations team. The Tech Operations team is responsible for safe operations, intelligent planning, and thoughtful execution of our AET platform.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure our vehicles have reliable connection to our cloud services
- Maintain our fixed network infrastructure
- Performance test network equipment
- Deploy infrastructure as code to automate deployments
Qualifications:
- Strong background in end to end communication and troubleshooting, preferably with wireless segments
- Firewalling and access control (IPTables, ACLs)
- Switching (802.1q VLANs, spanning tree)
- Routing (BGP, OSPF)
- Packet capture and analysis
- Openvpn and Wireguard VPNs
- Regular user of Linux/Unix operating systems networking components and tools
- Knowledge in networking in GCP and understanding of cloud environments
- Able to learn and adapt to equipment from new vendors.
- Ability to deliver results with minimal supervisionAbility to prioritize and complete a variety of simultaneous tasks
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to work effectively with a wide range of end users
- Ability to communicate technical information effectively, both written and verbal
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and manage project details while balancing multiple priorities
Nice to Have:
- Wireless communication (LTE, 5G, Wifi, 802.11r)
- Experience monitoring network performance/availability and performing ad hoc analysis
- Linux System Administrator knowledge
- Experience upgrading network devices in production environment
- Radio planning for wireless networks and antenna optimization
